Marques’ Almeida exhibited their 2013-2014 Fall Winter Womens Runway Collection during London Fashion Week. Designers, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, had a full parade of denim garments playfully continuing on with their signature raw, youthful and effortless looks. Denim in its prime material, came forth with the slasher style, shredded threads and ripped hems design. We saw layering dominance through sleeveless tops, big pocketed long or short skirts, don’t-be-trippin’ excess hem torn up jeans, denim jackets, parkas and ultra wide leg trousers. Denim washes came in with classic retro blue, dark indigo and almost black. More trendy design highlights and notable ensemble style pieces included cobalt blue fur, sheepskin white shag, smooth polished textured ponyhair, metallic fabrics, multi-paneled color blocking motorcycle biker jackets, loud zebra prints and nautical marine camouflage prints. To top the 90s semi-grungy collection, the MA initials popped up through a patchwork embroidered blouse and a see-thru thinly knitted thread sleeveless top.
