The Institution by Galib Gassanoff 2026 Spring Summer Women’s Runway Collection, titled “Su,” premiered at Milano Moda Donna during Milan Fashion Week, Italy. This collection, named after the Proto-Turkic word for “water” reflecting spirituality, centers on a new conversation featuring tailored jackets inspired by the traditional Chepken women’s vest. Central to the line is an expanding community-driven craftsmanship network in the Caucasus, involving women’s communities in Azerbaijan and Georgia who contribute hand-woven pieces made from Typha Latifolia (rush) and cotton shoelaces, referencing local carpet traditions. Highlighted standout looks included the rug carpet weave blouse with shoelace fringes and the wool tie up blouse over typha latifolia basket weave skirt, all emphasizing artisan techniques and cultural heritage.
