Valentino introduced their 2014 Resort Womens Pre Collection. Creative directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, opted for a more relaxed mood with a great mixture of preppy school girl daywear, Bohemian chic, nautical inspired uniforms, dainty Mediterranean lace embroidered looks and minimalistic solids. First off, we saw a good understated selection of denim and jeanswear pieces with a sailor collar top pullover, mini shorts, wide leg modern mom jeans pants and a tapered slim pair. Large tote bags or clutches, maritime stripes, animal leopard prints, espadrilles, lace shirts, crop top warmers, marine pea coats and military camouflage trench coats complemented every denim piece. For swimwear, a matching urban camo or striped parka worked well with bikinis. Sleeveless or long sleeved one piece playsuit rompers and wide legged cropped pants, were good choices for a downtown stroll. For a semi-formal look, vibrant saturated colors in full hue spread out through coats, skirts and dresses. Florals with lace fabrics also played a major part especially with embroidered and print designs. From the presentation, we selected only the top looks and our favorite pieces.
